Saint Tropez - stay classy and fabulous at a Saint Tropez legend !

Hey guys,

when traveling among the French Riviera you should not miss out going to the hot spot: Saint Tropez, St. Tropez or Saint Trop - however you may call its the place to be in France, Europe, well in the WORLD!

So first questions firsts, where to stay in St. Tropez?

As Coco Chanel already told us girls you should be two things: classy and fabulous. So keep your heels and standards high there is really only one option where you can stay at,  the Saint Tropez legend : "Hotel de Paris Saint-Tropez".

Talking about Coco Chanel and history, yes she was also staying in this wonderful central luxury located hotel. And I swear I could feel her spirit on the roof top terrace!

If the building could talk, it would tell you its story - a story which goes back to the height of Saint-Tropez's fame. Back in 1928 Marcel and Augustine Aubour invested their savings in a plot of land at the heart of Saint-Tropez, then just a small fishing village, but already home to a number of painters and artists including Colette, Matisse and Signac.
1931, Hotel de Paris-Saint-Tropez opened and the Parisian intelligentsia and art world as Coco Chanel became regulars.

In the early 1950s Francoise Sagan arrived barefoot in her Jaguar and Juliette Greco, Boris Vian and Jcques Prevert left their poetic and musical legacies. In 1956, the "and god created woman" was filmed, strengthening the legend of Saint-Tropez and creating an indelible link with Brigitte Bardot.

The history itself from the hotel is like writing a "who is who" over the high society.

The hotel held this position throughout the seventies and eighties, until it closed 1992. In 2001, millionaire Claude Dray mouth bought and renovated the hotel to bring the legend back to life. Rebuilt by architect Francois Viellecroze and decorated by Sybille de Margerie.

The hotel is really modern styled and you can feel the glorious history vibes all over this majestic place. The lobby is really amazing and has a great stylish open design.

I personally loved the stylish interior and art collection, to have a Apero on the bar and watch the scene was one of my favorites to do.

One of my highlights of the hotel is the fantastic roof top terrace with a pool, where you can enjoy your glass of wine and the beauty of Saint Tropez from above.  It is a five-star hotel giving you all the amenities you could wish for, when staying at this wonderful place.

As the hotel is so central, you just need about one minute walk and your at the beautiful harbor, from where you can explore restaurants, night clubs, shopping streets or simply the nice old town of Saint Tropez.

The rooms are really modern and minimalistic designed.

I loved the bathroom, it features Clarins products. After a long day and a shower you sleep in the fantastic beds like a princess.

The hotel has also a own restaurant and a bar where you can enjoy high quality snacks, drinks and of course great dinner and lunch.

When we were there, they had a great fashion show!

The service, especially the concierge, is really helpful and can reserve the best tables at the well known restaurants. Also they give you great assistance if you need help in booking a yard or going by helicopter to Monaco. Don't forget to check out the Spa treatments ! After partying in Saint Tropez just always the right thing to do !

Lake of Tegernsee, Bavaria, Germany,  where to go?

photo of Fährhütte14 at lake Tegernsee, Bavaria, view to the lake and the private beach club from the restaurant

Hey guys,

if you are traveling to Bavaria, Germany, a stop always worth is the beautiful lake of Tegernsee. If you are visiting Munich, it is about a 45 min drive from central Munich.

The lake itself is beautiful surrounded by mountains and is pure Bavarian lifestyle. Famous footballers as Manuel Neuer (FC Bayern Munich) are living around the lake, it is one of the most beautiful places to be in Bavaria. But not only for the rich and famous.

One hideaway I can recommend anybody to go is the "Fährhütte14".

The Fährhütte14 is belonging to the famous Althoff Hotel Collection, which is holding a 5-star-superior hotel also on the lake. As it is just some minutes away, it is perfect to book a room there if you planning an over night stay.

The Fährhütte14 opened up in 2014 with a new team and a fully new concept. As the name is already hiding it is a romantic cottage surrounded only by the lake and beautiful nature. The cottage itself is offering a restaurant and an exclusive beach club.

It is the perfect hideaway to treat yourself with high quality service, food, drinks and absolute peaceful romantic surrounding and views.

As it is so romantic, of course you can also book this location for an event for yourself. Many weddings are taking place at this stunning setting.

We had our lunch at the jetty, which is quite an experience. My recommendation - if you are early enough you should ask for this unique place - as only 2 tables are available.

The menu of the Fährhütte14 is offering high quality food as fish dishes, salads, burgers and pasta. Don't miss the fabulous wine card.

Barcelona, my foodie insights for you!

PART 4 I La Boqueria Market

View from the entrance of the La Boqueria Market Barcelona to the crowded market and market stalls

Hey guys,

my posting series about where to go in Barcelona for foodies and restaurant lovers is continuing. Make sure you did not miss part 1, 2 and 3 by clicking on the numbers you will be forwarded to my other food and restaurant recommendations from my blog.

If you travel to Barcelona you normally heard from this location when searching for places to go.

I dedicate my part 4 of my food series the unique and great "La Boqueria Market".

The La Boqueria Market is located central, only a side step away from the well known street "la rambla".

The origins from the history of the market go back to the 1200s, it was born as a traveller market - which was at the beginning an open-air market. Developing over the years the market has become one of the must-sees when visiting Barcelona, one of the best markets world wide.

When you entering the market stalls from the street of "la rambla" you enter a a market for your senses.

The market stalls itself are close one to another, also enclosed in the market stalls many bars and restaurants where you can directly order your food or a  drink an watch the scene.

I personally loved the fruit market stalls. A smoothie costs around 1,50 euro. We went there for dinner and tried many things as slices of Empanadas and cheese / ham. We also had a glass of cava at the market. Round about we came to 20 euros all together for two persons, which is really cheap for an European city attraction.

Make sure you never leave your handbag unattended, but this doesn't stop the fun.

The market is also offering a food school, where you can book courses for cooking and learning from local chefs and artists. Check the homepage for more information.

The restaurant I choose to write about today is the "SURF HOUSE" in Barcelona.

Surf House Barcelona, Spain - photo of the entrance of the restaurant with surf boards decorated

This location is directly located at the beach. And as the name is already giving you some idea, it is a surf spot and a restaurant decorated with all things relating to surfing.

You have a beautiful view from the restaurant facing the beach life of Barcelona.

The restaurant itself is offering a big menu  where you can choose from breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack and dinner.

We choosed an Avocado Toast with smashed avocado, feta cheese, basil and cherry tomatoes. Beside this great high quality fresh dish I choosed a drink called Lime Juice, with mint and a bit of sugar. I can really recommend it, also they offer a smoothie of the month, just ask for the fruits at the moment. Also you can do your own healthy creation of course.

As it is a surfer spot, they also offer activities - which you can book. For example SHB SUP Yoga & Pilates and afterwards you can get your well deserved smoothie or Mojito. On some days they also have live music with special cocktail prices.
